This is more of a /diy/ question but here goes anyway: I wanna try and experiment building my own front rack, pic related is my inspiration. I want to make it as simple as possible, and since I can't solder I was thinking of just flattening the tubes at the joining spots and simply bolting them together.
- Is this a dumb idea?
- What sort of tubing should I use?
- How should I go about bending the tubes?

This is the way I'm gonna go I think, though looks to me the thickness of the fork blades (compared to the fork dropout) would get in the way of a straight rod bolted to the eyelet, I'll look for something with a little outwards bend (or just bend it myself)
Been looking around and pic related seems ideal to me, even more minimal.
