>>1135125>>1135041In my city they tore out several blocks of housing to replace it with a suburban strip mall and suburban style houses with cul-de-sacs. The neighborhood was mostly black. The idea was that retail and the black middle class were fleeing to the suburbs and they needed to recreate suburbia it in the city. Just below this image is a freeway that tore out an additional two block width of neighborhood and replaced it with a car sewer in a trench.
