I've been obsessed with Milwaukee Road for the last two years. Since getting into it my model railroading has been so much more enjoyable. Sans weathering, I can make up trains that look just like the shit I see in photos and video from the 1970's. I love doing it, and I love the lore and history of the MILW.
And god damn it I am fuming at all times because it's gone. It's gone, and I fucking missed it.
It's not even gone for a GOOD reason. Greed, corruption, and complacency killed it. I believe, however insane, that it was killed from the inside by Hill fags. It only lasted until 1984 because of the dedication of its employees on the ground, keeping the whole system going.
