>>1151490Finally, the steel-wheeled AS-2014 stock that they ordered for the new Line 6, which is the beginning of a Moscow-style outer loop to unload Line 2 by shifting passenger volumes to Lines 4 and 5. It's also the first fully automated line in the Santiago system.
They're jointly built by CAF and Thales, but they remind me a ton of the Hong Kong metro designs, with that classic wide Metro Cammell profile and those characteristic long overhangs. The AS 2014 design will also form the backbone of the new Line 3 when it opens this year.
