For example this poor DRG 50 likes knocking her motor brushes out of place every now and then. Doesn't matter if they're old or new. The Ce 6/8 has tarnished wheels, and it barely makes any contact with the track.
These haven't been mistreated or anything, it's just that they're close to 40 years old. They were extremely unreliable when new, and that's only gotten worse with time.
However, the cute little DRG 89 I posted in the webms seems to be a lot more reliable than its older equivalents. I think it's from 2009 or so, it has one of those fancy new five-pole motors that Märklin likes bragging about so much.
I don't even know if I can get my old rolling stock repaired/refurbished, or how much it would cost. I know I can't do it myself because I lack both the tools and the fine motor abilities (Asperger's).
