>>1748481We do actually have safety regulations for tunnels. The problem is that this entire pile of retardation is technically not a tunnel but a "transit system." And because it uses electric cars with autonomous systems built into them, which have very little to no laws regulating infrastructure specifically for them, this "transit system" doesn't have anything beyond basic building code requirements. On top of that you also have to remember that different states will have different laws and requirements for safety. This pic is a diagram for a tunnel that was built in California back in the early 2010's. As you can see they went all out with safety systems.
