Contacted Brooks and told them I don't agree. Never heard from them again.
From my point of view the material is crap. It shouldn't fail at this point. Also: Brooks chickened out of the warranty because of a technicality (the tensioning screw has not been turned - this automatically voids the warranty).
As I've said, do some research. This is not an uncommon problem.
