The 747 made money, the Concorde never did. Its why the Concorde sits in museums and 747's are in the sky today.

Even though a modern 737-800 externally looks about the as it did in 1967, it's a vastly different plane. Far more fuel and crew efficient. Engines are far more reliable now to allow ETOPS rated planes to fly overwater routes that usually required 3 or 4 engines.
Compare a 1960's 707 to a modern 787.
