Last note, Lefty fans claims the shock-stanchion-lower tube has less static friction and the single tube absorbs micro vibration and tiny bumps that a regular fork doesn't. Obviously they're not for gnarly DH stuff, but make the easy fire roads and loose stuff a lot smoother.
Never ridden one, and aesthetic matters to me. If it wasn't so expensive, and if Trek and Specialized did it too cuz it was equal, or actually beneficial, I might consider the goofy left fork.
