The shifters made sense since I didn't want to drop more money on actual good quality brifters for such a shitty bike (Actual Microshifts for $65 or $100+ for Claris, fuck Tourney), less than $1 in plastic was attractive. It indexes fine, but it doesn't hold the lower gears too well since the springs are weak, I could give them more mechanical advantage by decreasing the diameter of the cable drum though. The ghost shift up from 3rd to 4th is kind of nice though, it's like an automatic transmission. If I'm climbing then I just hold it.
I'll publish the design when I'm happy with it. It and the tektros are lighter than Dura Ace levers :^)
