I'm a commercial fisherman out of Alaska and formerly in the Army so comfort isn't really an issue for me but city slickers might not be happy. The rest of your points are pretty silly but not liking bicycle touring is your loss. It can be extremely fun and I averaged 110 miles a day the whole trip which for me is much more fun than a super loaded down touring bike.
