Still, I've considered my needs and a typical hybrid or road bike just isn't what I'm going to be using. I was looking for something that could take abuse or extremes if I needed it to while still performing adequately in simple pleasure trails or short commutes. This way I can kind of graduate to those extremes as I develop a feel for the bike and biking in general. Sure I won't be wearing a skin tight jersey and aerodynamic clothing riding a 4k diamondback. Instead I'll be finding a way to include biking into my already established hobbies.
