Can anyone tell me if there's something inherently wrong with a steel fork for gravel/adventure bikes? Everyone is all about carbon forks these days but I don't know why?
Steel forks are more comfortable, stronger, more durable (doesn't get sanded after a few hours of biking like carbon forks), doesn't fail catastrophically, can load racks/paniers, can't be overtorqued, can weld new mounting bosses
Really the only thing against it is weight...but how much heavier are they? What if they are made out of high quality steel like reynolds/colombus?
