>>1197180The old tramway stopped at Birmingham Snow Hill, the city's second smaller railwaysl terminus and an eyesore back in the day.
The amazing plan 10 years ago was to actually extend the trams into New Street, the city's major station and bang in the centre of the city core. This was finished a few years ago when New Street station was upgraded and refurbished, and with the trams running into the city proper, people are actually taking them.
Now that it has reached the city centre, works are underway now to bring it through the city square, past the new HSBC global headquarters and a bunch of new high rise development, and into the east side of the city as you can see in the dotted line.
