>>1446572Melbourne's City Loop is at capacity. They're building a line from Footscray over west there via parkville, swanston st in the CBD, King's Domain (to be called ANZAC station - which is along St Kilda Rd) then onto the Caulfield group of lines going just south of South Yarra.
Although construction has already started, is this the route you would have used to build a new line? What other underground lines would you build as a third/fourth project?
Doncaster is a suburb that is surprisingly close to the city for not having a railway line. It's a real disgrace to not have it by now. What alignment would you recommend for building a railway line from Doncaster to the CBD?
The Andrews government has decided he likes the idea of an _underground_ 'suburban rail loop' to link the Airport, RMIT Bundoora, and other orbital locations. Do you think the loop is a good idea, or how else would you facilitate getting around the periphery of the CBD instead of going through it?
How would you connect Melbourne's airport to the CBD? The current govt proposal is via Sunshine then northeast from there on the standard gauge freight line, branching to the airport. The more expensive proposal would be to extend the Showgrounds/Flemington Racecourse branch line northwest. Which one would you pick, or would you do it differently?
