Thomson shit doesn't go that well with 90s mtb. You like your bike because it has the 90s style, so get something that fits in, Kalloy sp-248 is a good choice if you wanna cheap out. Nitto if you must have something expensive, or vintage XT/XTR.

Uno is the same as Kalloy unless you didn't know. Aliexpress sells many brands that are not chinkshit, Jagwire comes to mind.

Kalloy SP-248 is a piece of art, shipped with many mid-rangers from 90s. The stem's are also top class design, I have seen more broken Thomsons than Kalloy/Unos.
