Other villages nearby sport between 20 and 50 people.Why is there even a train station there? Railway lines over here get scrubbed for much smaller reasons than that. My city of 330 000 has one railway connecting it to another city of 160 000 just ~50 km away, serving a few towns and villages on the way. That line used to be abandoned for almost 20 years. Another line connects it to another city of 300 000 or so. Deutsche Bahn had plans to abandon that one as well, but thankfully that was averted by local politics.
