Only crash I've had since I was a kid was when some asshole put a bike lying across a cycleway at night at the bottom of a steep hill where you can't go off the path to avoid it. Managed to slow down some but was still going fast enough to go right over the handlebars. Didn't hit my head, but did get a 3 inch laceration in my side, a few grazes and some minor bruising. On the plus side, I now have a second bike.
