I bought a new 8 speed cassette, Campag hub. Pic related. I've gone to fit it. And it just seems too tall for the freehub body. But the old one fit fine (old was original Campag, new is Miche, but compatible with Campag).
Anyone know why this might be?
There's plastic spacers between each gear (like the old cassette). But on the old cassette, the last (smallest) gear doesn't have a spacer, it's just thicker. On the NEW cassette, the smallest gear is slightly thinner, but there's a thin spacer (much thinner than the other plastic ones) to give it proper spacing. And it does look like proper spacing with that spacer. But then the smallest gear just sort of falls off the hub. I can take the thin spacer away, but then the gap to the next gear looks too small, compared to the other gaps.
Just wondering if someone might know an answer.
I'll probably try again tomorrow when it's light again.
