Is it just me or the whole push for CUES / LinkGlide feels like absolute scam?
All I see is benefits for manufacturing and only degraded features and increased price for user:
> everything made from shitty Altus tier materials, that can be stacked to artificially create higher tiers
> price level on par with 11 level systems that used to have XT precision
> forced to use XT priced consumables with Altus performance
> still a zoo of various incompatible components that are now also incompatible with HG
> only two click shifting
> heavier, even on higher tiers
> multiple, different tool and philosophy components ( square tapper, octalink, hollowtech )
> squished 11spd cog spacing even for 9spd 4000 series, where the shit, clutch-less derailleur won't have the rigidity of XT even if the cable actuation is increased
Only advantage is see so far is being able to build a poor mans 1x system using 9s cassette, long, clutched cage and proper old, deore shifter for something that last similar to 8..9spd. But i've yet to find a non-advertising video really comparing longetivity and consumable price with previous low tier components.
