Though I wouldn't knock bikes and buses sharing lanes depending on the circumstances. This is the set up about a .5 mile away and it works awesome. No centreline is marked so buses just go to the centre/left when passing bikes. It's extremely rare for a bus to need to slow down to pass a bike due to another oncoming bus. (It was an old railroad right of way so the backs of apartment buildings face the left side and lightly used industrial land is on the right).
