>>1403842Maybe some kind anons can help me with this since /wsr/ went crickets on me. I dug out my dad's old bike and got it fixed up, but I am not sure what it is, exactly. The decals say it is a Le Tour Luxe. The head badge says Chicago. Schwinn catalogs say that's not possible, considering Schwinn only used the Chicago plant from '80 to '81 and Le Tour Luxes hit the market in '83. To make matters worse, the numbering system Schwinn employed is not on the head badge. Now, I've heard rumors that when Schwinn went to China, they still used the Chicago head badge, but I've also heard of people changing the decals to fool customers into paying more. All I know for certain is that it's a 10-speed with (I assume, given the wear) original altus brakes and rear derailleur. Any help would be greatly appreciated in pegging down this bike.
