I regularly ride both an aluminium and a carbon road bike and I agree. The alu bike is stiff as hell and feels incredible while cornering, but its very uncomfortable when the road is not perfect. The carbon bike on the other hand seems to glide over rough roads and is super comfy all around, and in the end of the day its actually a little bit faster than the alu bike even if it doesnt feel faster. The carbon bike is by far the better bike, the only gripe I have with it is that it doesnt feel as responsive as the alu bike when cornering, but it wouldnt surprise me if its actually faster there too.
The carbon bike is more than twice as expensive though, so theres that.
