Here's one: The day before in the pic, we had flown a cross-border flight into Bangor, Maine, from Canada. I've done it a bunch of times with no hiccups, but, other crews have been ripped to shreds due to our company not having the required paperwork or something else.
Long story short, the eAPIS I had filed had apparently not gone through due to a comm error on the East Coast CBP system and one of three officers that intercepted us fucking ripped the shit out of us. Fortunately, I always take a pic of the confirmation email that I get upon submitting. I showed it to the guy but he never apologized and blamed it on the error, but let us through (grill officer in the back was visibly cringing, lol).
The next day we ended up going to Daytona Beach flying the whole day due to kickass winds and short stops. On the way to Maryland, where I drew the blue oval, ATC says
>"hey guys don't get spooked but two F-16's are going to be flying right over you from the east">".....Oh fuckshitshitshit did CBP request them suddenly cause they think we're sketch?!?!" We, fortunately, weren't in any trouble but it was really cool and intimidating seeing these things with missiles on the wingtips flying I shit you not barely 100' above us.
I'm assuming they were doing training over the Atlantic and used us as "target" practice, lel.
