Between bikes that are too heavy and slow, ones that are too focused on child transport and child safety and ones that simply cost too much (large intersection with bikes from the second category), the Bullitt seems like the best middle ground between carrying space, weight, price and sturdiness. It's pretty popular, it's not the priciest, it's not the heaviest, couriers swear by it, I don't think you can do much wrong with it. Plus you can add a suspension fork if things turn out too bumpy, and both Velogut and Rad3 actually sell wooden cargo boxes with dog doors if you're so inclined. Not sure whether these will work with official covers and canopies however.
