I really wanna buy a lightweight XC bike but I know I abuse the fuck out of anything I can even when I specifically get it to take on tamer trails in the first place. I first got my hardtail to “ride easier stuff” and push it to its limits instead, I got a gravel bike to try that same concept again and ended up shredding and abusing it just like an oversized BMX, luckily they’re both steel so they’re holding up well, but im afraid of getting my first lightweight focused bike and inevitably sending it off fat drops because I can, and the (obviously carbon) frame breaking.
Are XC frames tough as shit? I already know the answer that they’re not, are the Dow country frames up to the task of durability? And are they even lightweight? I’d imagine I want something under 30lbs and 140mm or 120mm front travel
