I thought it was a shim, but it's actually the old seatpost
someone has cut the old seatpost off, and smashed a new seatpost inside it. But that post is only a couple inches long, it doesn't even go inside the frame.
I was going to carefully cut the shim all the way around so it was easier to remove the post from it (the one thing that shifts a bit), but there actually isn't even any seatpost where I cut, and so no seatpost actually in the frame at all.
I thought if i could get the seatpost out, that would be wedging the shim in, so the shim would come out, but it's worse than that. The shim is a seatpost.
Iunno what the fuck to do. I guess I have to try to cut it out but last time I tried to do that I ended up damaging the frame and not even getting it out
