Drivers seemed pretty chill for the most part, and the only time I ever felt uncomfortable was riding the PCH at night through Encinitas-Carlsbad. But no, not really a biking city (which is fucking weird, given how perfect and lovely your weather is there, even in mid-winter). There's a road there that really sticks in my mind called La Jolla Shores Dr., descending it after climbing up Torrey Pines Road is awe inspiring.
