>>1669849>Human scale means when the town is build on the scale of how far a person can walk, as opposed to being built primarily for cars.Even if the town less than 2 square miles, like a medieval town would (picking Mantua, Italy as my example), the farms that a peasant might have would be 20-30 modern acres (upward of the two size of two super Walmarts+parking), plus the distance it takes to walk to town. The 30 acres would have be gone over usually by foot, as well. You could argue with an extreme example like driving a 60 mile round trip to work every day, but unless you want to live in some developer's idea of a "human scale" neighborhood (read: outdoor shopping mall), I'd say it's a bit of wash.
