The first phase of the Limmattalbahn broke ground on August 29. Expected to open in late 2019, the first phase will run from Bahnhof Alstetten in Zürich to Geissweid (a future tram loop on Bachstrasse) in Schlieren. The second phase to Bahnhof Killwangen-Spreitenbach will begin in 2019 and is expected to be completed in autumn 2022.
The Limmattalbahn involves 3 major services; Limmattalbahn, Line 2 (tram), and Line 31 (trolleybus).
>The Limmattalbahn will be begin at the southern side of Bahnhof Zürich Alstetten on Hohlstrasse, it will terminate at Bahnof Killwangen-Spreitenbach.>Line 2 will connect to the Limmattalbahn at Farbhof; it will be extended to Geissweid.>Line 31 will terminate at Hermetschloobrücke (Micafil) instead of Schlieren Zentrum.(German):
