>>2010681Non bike people don't care about advantages or performance. They ride on knobbys, big seats with springs, fat tire bikes, suspensions and beach cruisers because they think they are cool.
They won't turn a screw or ever make an adjustment on their bikes. When they go ride they're not going to carry a pump (much less a floor pump), a wrench, tire levers, spare tubes, or patch kits. They are not going to buy latex tubes to gain an advantage. Or quality tires. No matter how HUGE an advantage is to get some premium tires.
They won't buy special clothes. They won't raise their seats for "optimal leg extension". They don't like riding bent over. They don't like losing circulation in their hands, They won't ever do foot retention. They don't care if they have to get off on a hill, all they know is that it's easier than mashing or riding zigzags. They don't know what the UCI is or that they penalize you if you get off your bike during a climb while racing. They never want to race. They don't watch racing. That don't like riding in traffic and won't bother to learn how
Here's what they want:
A bike that works every time
A bike they don't have to maintain. Ever.
They want to never spend any money besides the purchase price of a bike.
They don't want to learn anything about bikes. Ever.
They won't even buy lights or rear view mirrors. Maybe a lock. Maybe...
Non bike people are not weirdos like us. Look at yourself do you really think you are normal or average? They are the only ones that think $200 is a good price for a bike. And the ONLY way to turn a non bike person into a bike person is to get them riding often. But that won't happen because they will quit the first time they get a flat, have to adjust brakes or gears or if they get uncomfortable from being bent over. And we just have to accept that the OP is a normie
