RIM BRAKING SURFACE
I need a good rim braking surface, I have a solid commuter set of wheels with mavic rims (I think they are 517?) and V-brakes, older wheels despite being in good condition dont brake as good. Braking surface seem very slick (Im not sure are they machined or not) not like pic rel on newer rims where traces of machining are visible, on these older ones surface is enitrely slick and it doesnt bite until you really squeeze it.
Would a change to salmon pads help, I alreeady tried more expensive pads with cartridges but it still meh despite being slightly better.
