if you'de dead set on a 20" bmx, make sure the bike has the following specs at minimum
>!full cromoly frame+fork+bars! this is THE A#1 most important thing>double-wall rims on the wheels>sealed bearings>3pc cranks, 48 spline. cromoly (or titanium if ur ballin')get at minimum a rear brake. you can take it off later if you're into that.
i would avoid freecoaster hubs unless you plan to do a lot of fakies, but it isn't really a dealbreaker on a complete bike.
you might also look at a basic 26" dirt jumper. i have one and it rules (i also put a pile of money into it but a basic setup is fine). check out like a haro steel reserve, those are sweet and cost a fraction of what i put into my TR PBJ.
