more often apparent is the fragility of Freewheel bearings on high mileage bikes
the width of the gear cluster is only supported by where it engages the threaded section of the hub
force applied to the smaller cogs is canter levered onto the threaded section
the good news is that this bearing is not part of the hub and is cheep to replace
