Nothing obsolete about the concept of a supersonic medium bomber. The Hustler's Achille's Heel was being inflexible: it could only carry a single bomb (a nuke, in the oversized drop tank). So it could not be used for anything other than a nuclear strike, which have not been in very high demand since 1945. If it were around today, it would be great for launching satellites. SpaceX or VIrgin Galactic would buy 'em up as a mothership.
