These pics are the first working state (hardly any 'during' pics, I just installed the parts). A short test ride resulted in changes to everything saddle & handlebar related. Fixed foot position helps identify those adjustments.
The headset I wanted has been out of stock for over a year, so this is an IRD/Tange TechnoGlide w/ cartridge bearings (a first for me). The crown race (just a bearing locator) is tiny, too small for my headset tool, so I had to tap it on w/ a small hardwood block. Considered splitting it, but figured there must be some reason why Tange doesn't.
I like RH front brake/LH rear, but this internal cable routing assumes the other way around... internal is too much faff in general. Shift cable routing is bar-end-style, but I might tweak the cable layout if something annoys me. Bars are Nitto 135 (engraving says 'Grand Raundoneur' lol).
Long cage rear because I originally planned to use that triple w/ ~12-32 cassette. This old Deore works, but capacity is 27t as pictured, might switch to short cage later.
Wheels are Shimano 600 tricolor hubs, Campagnolo Omega 19 rims non-MSW, DT spokes. Schwalbe sidewalls seem a bit yellow, hope they darken with road grime.
I have black Fizik 2mm bartape (the usual) to install, but I'm tempted to put cotton/shellac on. Tomorrow is the first day above freezing in nearly a week, so the first real ride.
