For all intents and purposes I'm finally done building the groundwork for my switching yard layout, the catch is I'm now sure that Atlas 80 track isn't suitable for running British locos on, which scuppers a lot of my plans.
I'm going to need to get an American loco for this + some wagons, and I know fuck all about American trains in general other than the Big Boy and Challenger.
Anyone got any recommendations for a good, iconic looking American locomotive I could run on pic related? I'm not interested in Steam other than the Challenger, and that'd be too big for the layout.
Also, if anyone has pics or a video of an American switching yard that isn't a brutalist, concrete, dystopian hellscape I would greatly appreciate it. Nothing against concrete but I'd like a little more than just that for this layout.
