I live 100yds within line of sight of a daily used rail crossing (pic semi-related, the blue was nicer. their new scheme sucks) and not only can I hear the fucking horns through noise canceling headphones in a concrete building, but the entire building shakes when the diesels go by. my plants in the back room start vibrating. you gotta be completely out of it to not sense something that weighs 150 tons approaching you at cruising speeds.
