>>1773589I went to the shop, they had WTB venture 40’s, specialized pathfinder 42 (they didn’t have the new sworks version though), maxxis rambler 50 (only one of them though) and gravelkings 40 and continental terra trail 40. If they had Victoria terreno drys or the sworks pathfinders I might’ve grabbed those, but I got the continental terra trails, went out for an hour trail ride before work, went faster than I’ve ever been on that loop, jumped a bit, slammed berms at hard and low angles, climbed on crumbling dirt, plowed through cobbly singletrack and the tires did great at basically everything except super loose near-mud where it slipped climbing only until I adjusted my weight a bit. I even whacked my front rim riding over a pointy rock and the tire didn’t pop.
Pumped up to 38psi on 27mm rims because that’s what they ended up at after I seated them and I don’t know any better, probably would want to go higher since I wasn’t riding super hard when I got that rim strike. Pedal strokes feel like they have much more power behind them, my previous “top speeds” is no longer limiting
