provide a photo of the Bottom bracket if you can
sometimes the cup and cone bottom brackets have their adjustment come loose
and they can be re adjusted from the outside
I could try and explain this process but that's a long post
if your bike has a cartridge bottom bracket their is not much to be done other than replacing it
most modern cartridge BB use a spline drive to engage the threaded cups
and much like most specialized bike tools are not really worth buying unless you use them a lot
I have more often had use for a crank extractor than to remove BBs as it is rare they fail completely
