Time for a blogpost boys....so I did it, i finally build up my bike frame, after months of saving... I got most of my components from my LBS because I didn‘t want to loose my mind going down the bunny hole that is internet shopping. My LBS (the shop opposite the Supermarket where I work) is so shit that they didn’t even have the the stuff what I wanted, so I literally just described what I wanted (for example," a 120mm stem that is almost horizontal but not quite“, and they ordered it for me, without me knowing what exactly I was getting. And the stuff came in 3 days. I only had a front wheel and I wanted a matching back wheel. You can’t buy a wheel with Ryde Chrina rims and fixed/fixed Miche Primato online...so they built one for me. The only thing that I bought online was the octalink dura ace crankset, chainring and BB, but the mechanic understood why I did it because I got a great deal and he installed it for me, they also cut the carbon fork for me, which I didn't have the balls to do myself.
All in all, maybe this isn’t the stiffest/lightest „best value“ bike (due to the LBS mark up) and it doesn’t look like one of those fashion fixies à la
reddit.com/fixedgearbicycle, but I’m happy. It's fast a fuck and it’s a blast to ride. And The LBS guys now know me by name, for what it's worth.
