Construction in Bay Meadows continues regardless of the world falling apart outside. This specific site used to be the Kmart where I had my first job, across the street was the Sears myself, my parents and grandparents shopped at since it opened. Surprisingly, the railroad outlasted the store. The mall continues to remain open because the San Mateo County figures they can make a lot of money by staying open, which is probably smart since the train tax based off it just passed.
