>>1147161it will not necessarily be easier to climb on road than a road bike, because it will be comparatively heavier
and locked out front suspension does not ride nearly as well as a nice rigid fork. Look at pic related, and the way the fork curves. A good rigid fork is designed to act as suspension and flex to absorb bumps over a road surface. A good road frame (or a rigid mtb) is also designed to do that. An alluminium hardtail frame like OP is designed to be as stiff as possible. The fork locked out will not flex. It is not nearly as comfortable on road as pic related. The frame is meant to be stiff, and the suspension is meant to keep traction of the front wheel over really rough ground. On anything less the fork merely wastes energy and makes the bike ride vaguely. Or it does nothing except be extremely heavy when locked out. The frame is heavy stiff and dead to ride.
>riding on road and maybe some light off road>i want a suspension mtbthis is dumb newfags 101
>lets combine some really cheap overbuilt aluminium (the least comfortable frame material) with some really cheap suspensionand the cancerous way you're pandered to
OP there is a reason why wallmart sells full suspension absolute shitters that we call 'bike shaped objects' and that's because there's an attitude that pervaded the bike industry that everyone needs mountain bikes. There's a long semi justified history to this, but know, your attitude is wrong, you have been lied to and that bike is far from ideal for your purposes.
