What happens when you need to go up a steep hill? You're fucked. That's why a road bike is the best form of bicycle, PERIOD. The versatility and the speed are unmatched.
Unless you want to go off road I guess. In which case get a cyclocross or an MTB. But why the fuck would you want to go off road and get all muddy and shit? I guess I can see some appeal on the weekends but for getting around, for commuting, and for sport, for me, it has to be road bikes.
