There is a valley 5 km north of this spot, and they are punching a hole in every hill along the way to create a nice smooth grade for the train. At that spot the rail bed is 30 feet below the road, so presumably a bridge will get added at some point.
That rail project got in my way a few weeks ago. Where there was once a road is now a quarry. The valley the tracks will pass through is flat, wide and flood prone, so they are moving a massive amount of dirt to build a path to the other side.
