well worth considering if you're doing a custom front end. Adding a basket, not as an afterthought, means you can zip tie it directly to the bars, which is a very stiff way of attaching it that rides better.
Cabling it is easier if the bars have sweep.
The lower support can be a bar-end, a second stem, a rack, or a reflector bracket mounted at the fork crown (behind the front brake with caliper brakes)
