>>1931721There's a major problem with this, as good as those chainrings are.
Old road bikes usually have a 130bcd crank. The lowest gear limit of these cranks, by how many teeth will physically fit, is 38t. More commonly you will have a 39t-42t hill gear combined with a 52/53 big boy gear. .
The litepro stuff is designed for folders. With smaller wheels folding bikes are naturally geared much lower than road bikes. Litepro (and as far as i'm aware, all others, dickass etc), offer only a 46t lowest chainring.
One of the two biggest problems with old road bikes, is that their gearing is not low enough. By swapping to a litepro 1x setup, you're making this problem much worse.
A 46t 1x setup has an incredibly niche use range.
Now -some- old road cranks, Sakae Ringyo SX & CX models, plus some Sugino models, and, many road/touring triples, have the same modern compact 110bcd, which for some reason, CSfactories produce reasonable 36t rings. But most don't. And telling a noob to 'just swap out your crankset bro' is mostly kind of ridiculous when, in this instance for example, he could probably satisfactorily fix the issue with his old shitter with an adjustable wrnehc and a screw driver and some time bendin.
