Vacuum implosions are going to be a serious problem if Hyperloop ever becomes a real thing, and it's up to the engineers to solve that problem.
If the tubes for this thing require steel rods to maintain structural integrety during transit and installation, then I would be highly worried for this thing to handle near vacuum conditions. You don't even need a pure vacuum for violent imposions to occur, the simple pressure differential as well as the fact that any imperfections in the tube could compromise the ability of the tube to withstand those forces basically makes the Hyperloop an accident waiting to happen.
The fact that Elon Musk sold off Hyperloop is really telling to me.
