this seems to fit in with the people that I see traveling less than 20 kph on a bike
and is co morbid with massive grooves cut into the lifting plate of the front derailleur cage

sure its a bit much to expect of people and the initial cost of tools
but time and time again I am astounded by how quickly bikes can deteriorate though miss use and poor adjustment
on top of this they leave bikes out in the rain and never lubricate any of the moving parts and pivots
