Tvärbanan in Stockholm got extended to Saltsjöbanan. There are some vague ideas of connecting the two but rolling stock and platform heights are different. Not only would it require rebuilding Saltsjöbanan's platforms, additional double-track would have to be built as Tvärbanan's rolling stock doesn't have the capacity of Saltsjöbanan's modified subway cars. In the end it would have to become almost entirely double-track as increased frequency to compensate for the loss of capacity would attract more riders, forcing an even higher frequency.
